Currently I am following 410 people and followed by 50 people in Pinterest.

Added a few pins from other users to my boards.

Pinterest:

• following 313 people now.
• got 19 followers

I am getting sick of just following people in Pinterest just to get more followers back.

It is more interesting to get some inspirations from other people's pins.

I will rest for a few days to follow people now. I will try to make some pins of my own from now on.

Now I am following 264 people.

I got 15 followers.

Again I followed 20 people or so in Pinterest.

Now I have 7 followers as well as I am following 202 following now....

I realise that Pinterest does not let me follow 100-300 people a day. It lets me follow around 20 people a day.

My first challenge is to get 100 followers, and just enjoy Pinterest pins from other people for inspirations.

Now I have created 15 boards with more than 15 pins from other pinterest users and sites.

I have two pins which I created using canva.com, which is really a good tool to make visuals for pinterest and any social media.

I will try to make at least 1 pin a day for next few days.

"Grow Followers" - According to one youtube video I watched, I have to follow 100-300 people in related categories a day?! - especially people with good numbers of followers (then follow their followers who are interested in the category/topic).

I don't think I can do that every day - but I may try it for a few evenings.

So far I created 9 boards in my Pinterest account (https://www.pinterest.co.uk/progressmakr/) and pulled some pins from others. I will try to wake up early tomorrow and continue making some boards in my account, before work.

Learning About Pinterest

Below is my notes on learning about Pinterest and how I can promote my site there.

What is Pinterest?

• can create and add visual pins of my own or others on categorised boards.
• A board is around one specific topic - any idea.
• Boards belong to user accounts or groups, can be public or private.
• Can collaborate with others, but use common sense, stay away from dodgy people.
• pins are about ideas and products.
• pins can be added from websites when using pinterest extension on user's browser (like bookmarking) or site's social icon.
• pins have an image, a link to website, pin title and description.

Images are very important for pins, must be vertical (2:3 ratio - 1000 x 1500pixels).

medium brightness, reddish-orange images 2x more repins than blue tones.

Should include Big text overlay. Easy to read fonts. Less texts. Don't give away everything with texts.

Life style image for products than just products.

• two types of accounts - personal and business accounts.
• People often look at pins for ideas to buy something or go to websites to read and learn more about the ideas.
• Profile about account - can have followers.

How can I promote my Website in Pinterest??

• Needs a business account (easy to setup and free).
• Can link to my website and youtube videos from pins.
• Can access to pinterest analytics.
• May want to use online tool called https://www.canva.com/ for pin image design. or I can use illustrator.
• Get Tailwind account - not sure what it is yet.

• wordpress - I had a site or two on wordpress before, but was not for blogging.
• Wix - I had a site on Wix before, but was not for blogging.
• Tumbler
• Blogger
• etc

I just watched some youtube videos about different blogging platforms available out there.

wordpress.org seem to be the most popular one. I did create some wordpress sites a few years ago, but I was more interested in coding aspect of creating websites than blogging, so I have abandoned them quickly.
